Crafty Intentions CROCHET PATTERN Doll Add-on: RAINY DAYS (printable PDF-file / 90 pages)

Developed by Megan Lapp aka Crafty Intentions, this pattern is for Rainy Day Dolls! This pattern is written in U.S. terminology.

This pattern comes with instructions to make Rainy Day Dolls!!

This pattern comes with instructions that you can use with the Doll Body pattern by Crafty Intentions to make Rainy Day Dolls. This pattern DOES NOT INCLUDE THE DOLL BODY.

You will first need the Doll Body pattern which you can find here:

On my Website: https://shop.craftyintentions.com/b/AFgsD

On Ravelry: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/doll-body-11

On Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1854676450/doll-body-crochet-pattern-by-crafty

This pattern includes instructions for Galoshes (Rain boots), an Umbrella (2 styles), a Rain Hat, a Raincoat, and a Rain Poncho!

All instructions are carefully depicted with words and photos! This pattern features clear step by step instruction with a lot of row-by-row photos. The gauge is not crucial to the pattern as long as the stitches are tight enough to hold stuffing.

This pattern is a total of 90 pages containing a full set of written instructions with photographic illustrations, and there are video tutorials for particular steps and stitches available on my YouTube channel. This Pattern consists of ONE PDF File, and the last 18 pages include 15 pages of Text-Only, Printer-Friendly instructions and 3 pages of the EU Safety and Compliance Document, but I strongly recommend you still refer to the photographic illustrations throughout the pattern if you have any questions.

This pattern is available in English and Portuguese.

SUPPLIES:

Yarn, in worsted weight, all amounts are approximate:

Galoshes/Rain Boots:

Tread & Sole: 17 yds for two shoes

Upper: 35 yds for two shoes

Umbrella:

Panels with Heavy Scalloping: 228 yds (38 yds per panel)

Panels with Light Scalloping: 210 yds (35 yds per panel)

Under Canopy Support: 18 yds

Over Canopy Support and Cap: 15 yds

Handle Cover: 20 yds

Rain Hat: 43 yds

Raincoat: 130 yds

Rain Poncho: 204 yds

Hood: 65 yds

**Note: It is important that you choose yarn that is the same weight as that used for your Doll Body – preferably the same brand. If the yarn used for add-on clothing is thinner or thicker than that used for the doll body, then the clothes will not fit the doll. If you must use a different brand or line of yarn, I suggest you make a swatch of each yarn (body yarn and clothing yarn) and make sure the

gauge is the same for both. To determine gauge, measure the number of stitches that fit in one inch and the number of rows that fit in one inch. If you cannot recreate the same gauge, you will be making clothing that will be either too large or too small to use with your doll body.

Darning Needle

Fiberfill

Wire for the Umbrella. I used 9 pieces of “16-Inch Green Floral Stem Wire, 14-Gauge 2MM Paper Wrapped Covered Flower Wire with 18 Gauge Inner Iron Wire” as the spokes between each umbrella canopy panel. This helps to reinforce the edges of both the under and over canopy support. You will need one additional wire to reinforce the handle strength. I also used 3 pieces of “18-Inch 18-Gauge brown paper wrapped faux floral wire” for the handle support. You can use whatever wire works for you that is strong enough to support the heavy crocheted umbrella. Pipe cleaners will not work, they are too flimsy. Wire

hangers are not recommended as they are too stiff and unmalleable. Bonsai wire (2mm or larger) works well; however, this wire is very smooth and may work better if wrapped in something like duct tape to add grip/texture.
